Terms of service
Last updated 26 August 2026
These terms govern your use of AutoUnmask. By using the product, you agree to them.
What AutoUnmask is
AutoUnmask gives you an assessment of a used-car listing, based on the listing text, photos, and (where purchased) an official vehicle history report. It is not a marketplace — AutoUnmask never lists cars for sale — and it does not scrape Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, or any other platform. Every check starts from something you gave us: a link, a screenshot, or manual entry.
What AutoUnmask is not
AutoUnmask is not a mechanical inspection and not financial advice. Every verdict is an opinion formed from limited information — the listing in front of it — not a guarantee about the vehicle’s condition, history, or value. We do not describe anything AutoUnmask produces as guaranteed, verified, or certified, because we can only speak to what the input actually shows.
AutoUnmask assesses listings, not people
A verdict is a statement about a listing — its price, its photos, its language, and (where available) official records for the vehicle. It is never a statement that a named individual is committing fraud or acting dishonestly. Where a listing shows hallmarks consistent with a scam, we say so about the listing.
Free service and paid products
Basic checks and the Garage are free, with no obligation to ever pay for anything. The Inspection Pack is a one-off paid product purchased per listing; pricing is shown before purchase and in AUD, GST-inclusive. Refunds are handled case by case — contact us if something’s gone wrong.
Your account
You need a valid email address to create an account. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Don’t use AutoUnmask to run bulk or automated valuations — see the anti-abuse note below.
Anti-abuse
Anonymous and free checks are rate-limited by IP and device fingerprint. Don’t use AutoUnmask as a free bulk valuation service for a competing product, and don’t attempt to circumvent rate limits.
Liability
To the extent permitted by Australian law, AutoUnmask’s liability for any loss connected to your use of the product is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant product (which, for the free tier, is nil). Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
